Where are my pictures?

It's no secret that I take a lot of pictures. Ever since I inherited a Kodak instamatic 126 camera from my grandfather when I was 12, I have had an interest in photography. That little bugger took square pictures, and had a disposable flash that stuck on top. I later upgraded to a more typical 35mm camera, and shot through many rolls of film as my childhood progressed. When the digital camera revolution swept the world, I wasted no time in upgrading. My current camera is a Canon PowerShot S2 IS, which has taken over 700 pictures in the 5 weeks that i've had it.

So where do all those pictures go? Their first stop is my poorly organized computer, which is home to over 3GB of still photos from my various cameras. Once there, I resize the good ones and find an appropriate distribution mechanism. For the ones worth sharing, they head to a web gallery of some form. In the past, I have had several avenues of distribution including my own hosted web server, and various free online gallery tools. Currently, I am working with the Coppermine gallery automation software which has really sped up the turnaround time to getting pictures posted. Hopefully, all my good pictures will soon be available there. The URL is http://meden.us/coppermine/index.php, so check it out and tell me what you think!

Also, for what it's worth I am not a 'gun nut', despite what it may seem. I enjoy sport shooting, and taking pictures, so this is the natural intersection. Don't worry, when not in use my pistols spend their time locked up and tucked away, they aren't casually sitting around my house being used to open beer bottles or turn off the TV.
